ROCKAWAY TWP.--A truck driver died and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Route 80 East this morning, state police said.

Details on the crash, which occurred at 10:40 a.m. on 80 East at milepost 36.2, were not immediately available.

The driver of a Jersey Central Power & Light truck was pronounced dead at the scene, state police in the Netcong barracks said. Two others were taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries, state police said.

The investigation has shut down lanes on both the eastbound and westbound sides near exit 35 for Mount Hope Avenue, according to the DOT site. Three left lanes on the eastbound side are closed and one lane on the westbound side remains closed as of 1:07 p.m., according to the DOT site.

Motorists should expect significant delays and are advised to avoid the area if possible.
