New Jersey Firefighting - NJ Firefighters Social Network

Through the grapevine, departments all around the state are getting to the point where no one really knows what the state requirements are for being a volunteer firefighter. Some say it is just Firefighter 1 and ICS 100 & 700. Others add in "Right to Know."

Then some departments require firefighters to take specific classes to ride certain trucks and to be able to do specific tasks on the fire grounds.

So we ask 3 questions:
1. What classes are state requirements to be a volunteer firefighter (if you know)?
2. What classes are required by your department?
3. What classes are required by your department to do specific tasts in your department (i.e. Firefighter 2 to ride a Truck or be 1st due)?

Thanks All.
